After the consultations, the alternatives for environmental impact assessment of the wind power plants planned to be developed in the maritime territory of Lithuania were determined. Ministry of Energy m. at the end of June, held a public consultation on the alternatives selected for the environmental impact assessment of wind power plants planned to be developed in the maritime territory of Lithuania.
It should be remembered that in 2020 June 22 The resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania determined the part of the Lithuanian maritime territory where it is appropriate to organize a tender for the development and operation of wind power plants with a capacity of about 700 MW.
It is planned that the first competition will be organized in 2023. at the end of all the necessary actions and studies, namely the preparation of the special plan of the Lithuanian maritime territory for the development of renewable resources, the assessment of the environmental impact of the planned wind power plants, the measurement of wind speed and other parameters, and the geological and geophysical research of the seabed.
After summarizing the results of the public consultation, the following alternatives have been selected for the preliminary environmental impact assessment, which aim not to limit the possibilities of the optimal installation of the wind farm in the territory approved by the Government's resolution and to reduce the risks for the participants of future tenders due to the parameters of the wind farms to be assessed:
Parameters | Maximum values
Wind farms Model 1 | Wind farms Model 2
Preliminary capacity, MW | 8–20+
The maximum number of installed wind farms in the alternative | Iki 90
Maximum height to the highest point of the blade, meters | 300 | 350 |
Maximum rotor diameter, meters | 250 | 320 |
When forming alternatives to the wind power park, the principle of geometric layout adopted in the report on the assessment of the strategic environmental consequences of the solutions of the engineering infrastructure development plan of the territorial sea of the Republic of Lithuania and/or the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Lithuania in the Baltic Sea, intended for the development of renewable energy, was used for the location of the power plants in the territory of the planned economic activity, as a reference criterion for accepting the diameter (D) of the windmill of the wind farm:
- in the direction of the wind 7–10xD;
- perpendicular to the wind direction 4-5xD.
