The purchase of the infrastructure study and preparation of technical specifications for the wind power park in the Baltic Sea is announced

The public institution Lithuanian Energy Agency informs that in the Central Public Procurement Information System, it has announced the purchase of the service for the preparation of studies and technical specifications for the implementation of the infrastructure of wind power parks in the maritime territory of Lithuania and the connection of the offshore wind power park to the onshore network. Bids from the purchasing participants are expected until October 10.

Infrastructure implementation studies and technical specifications for offshore wind farms planned to be developed, operated and connected to transmission networks in the maritime territory of Lithuania. Purchased services for the preparation of offshore wind farm connection to the onshore network include the preparation of infrastructure implementation studies and technical specifications.

The selected service provider will have to prepare and coordinate the infrastructure study with the customer within 100 working days from the date of the contract's entry into force, and prepare and coordinate the technical specification document within 60 working days from the customer's request to perform these services. It is planned that the infrastructure study will be prepared in May next year.

The results of the infrastructure study are important when planning the connection of the wind power park in the Lithuanian maritime territory to the transmission networks on land. Taking into account the results obtained during the preparation of the infrastructure study, the service provider will have to offer the customer the priority - reasonably most optimal implementation alternative of connecting the park to the transmission networks. The supplier will also have to submit proposals, conclusions and recommendations regarding the implementation of the identified priority alternative and prepare technical specification documents that determine the qualification requirements for future designers and contractors of the wind park connection developer.

The value of the announced purchase amounts to 486,000 euros without VAT, and the service supply contract is expected to be valid until December 31, 2023. with the possibility of extension up to 2 months. It is planned that in the territory of the Baltic Sea at a distance of 30 km by 2028 the first offshore wind farm of up to 700 MW will be installed, which could produce about 2.5-3 TWh of electricity per year. This would make up almost a quarter of Lithuania's current electricity demand and create about 1,300 jobs.
